i want to put my ipod into recovery mode to restore it because i forgot my password, but i cant do this because my home button is broken.. can anyone tell me what to do??

If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipeto erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.

I followed the steps that u said and it was working but after clicking 'erase this device' it says it will erase after the iPod connects to the internet.
I can't connect it to the internet because it is locked out..
Any suggestions?
Then you have to use this method. It uses a computer app to place in Recovery mode.

If you had turned on assistive touch before this problem started or when it started, you wouldn't have a problem. Assistive touch is a little button on the side of your screen, which has a lot of features in case one of your buttons is broken or something
